“Brownie!” Emma giggles as she chases the goat along the shore, sand and water flying every which way.

I laugh to myself as I watch them play while her two dogs lay next to me, snoozing in the late afternoon sun. I wore them out with an endless game of catch earlier.

We’ve spent the entire day at the beach, turning a lazy Sunday into an adventurous one. The more time I spend with them, the more I want to be around them.

Or around her, I should say.

I like the way I feel when I’m around Emma. As we laugh and enjoy each other’s company, she makes me feel alive again. I couldn’t help myself on Friday when I finally gave in to my need to taste her.

And damn, am I glad I did. Our connection blows my mind, and I want more. So when she invited me over the next day to hang out with her, I jumped at the chance. We spent most of the day making out on her couch between interruptions from the animals.

And when we planned this beach day, I didn’t hesitate to say yes. I want to spend as much time with her as I can. Not only her but Brownie, too, especially as my time with her is limited. Eventually, she’ll need a farm, not a tiny two-bedroom apartment.

At first, I told myself it’s only because of Brownie that I’m seeing Emma, but who the fuck am I kidding? Emma’s been in my thoughts since she caused me to spill my drink on me the first time we met. Why keep denying what’s happening between us?

“She must have endless amounts of energy.” Emma collapses next to me in the sand as she drops Brownie in my lap. “I’m exhausted.” She falls back on the towel, and I take a second to admire her in her bikini. Her endless curves and supple skin make my dick hard on the regular.

Fuck, I want her. I’m ready to explode, and soon, kissing won’t be enough to sustain me. My need for her grows stronger every fucking day.

But I won’t rush her. I’ll enjoy whatever she gives me and wait until she wants more.

What are you even doing with her? A relationship?

Fuck, I don’t know. I can’t figure out my life, never mind think about starting a relationship with a woman who deserves a lot more than what I have to offer.

Oh yeah, I’m just an assassin who lives alone and is usually a grumpy asshole. Let me show you the great life I have.

Yeah, she’ll want a future with that.

If I want this woman in my life, I need a career change. A new direction in life. So I can give her everything she deserves and more.

Money isn’t an issue. I’ve saved over the years, and I’m happy I did. If only I could figure out the rest.

“Hey, you okay?” Her warm hand runs down my back, and I turn to find her squinting up at me.
